WennSoft Tools

WennSoft Lookup

WennSoft Lookup was created to minimize the effort required to create a lookup window for any field within WennSoft applications. If accurate reporting on UDF information is the goal, data entry consistency must be enforced. Specifically, this tool allows you to:

• Create a list-view lookup on any field
• Replace an existing lookup with one that provides alternate filtering, sorting capability, display columns or even one that leverages multiple tables sources
• Create lookup on data from both custom or external tables or applications
• Enforce validation parameters to promote data entry consistency
• Create an inquiry only lookup, to show different rollups, drill-downs or financial calculations without the necessity to run a report.

WennSoft Filter

WennSoft Filter was developed to provide the ability to filter lookups based on multiple parameters (e.g. Show all customers that have a certain product within a specific geographic area). Additionally, WennSoft filter is designed for lookups and filtering against very large data sets as it pulls its results from a stored procedure. It allows for many filters to be applied at the same time, while still preserving performance in a large data-set environment.

WennSoft Report

WennSoft Report simplifies the effort required to run a Crystal report from any window. It essentially handles all API calls to Crystal engine. For those customers with Great Plains Modifier, users can add a new button or menu option to call out to distributable Crystal Reports® controls that do not require separate licensing. This not only allows for easier and faster reporting to be facilitated, but makes transparent to the user the fact that a separate application is being utilized.

WennSoft Alternate Window and Report Manager

WennSoft Alternate Window and Report Manager is designed to allow a user to open windows and reports, which are modified by more than one Dexterity based product, without the need to log in as a different user. This remarkable utility works not only with WennSoft Solutions, but with any Microsoft Business Solutions – Great Plains application as well. Essentially, if it is an application written in Dexterity, the WennSoft Alternate Window and Report Manager has got it covered!

Once you have installed the WennSoft Alternate Window and Report Manager, a few setup options are all that stand between you and your realization of the benefits this utility has to offer. These options include:

The option to add the alternate security setup window to the shortcut bar Setting options on how you would like the default modified resource to be handled (Always Use, Never Use or Ask On-The-Fly). If you grant access to only one product, that product will open automatically when you choose the resource. If you grant access to more than one product, you will be asked which one you would like used when you open the resource.

Managing security between different applications no longer needs to be a hassle with the WennSoft Alternate Window and Report Manager. Just install, set up options and move between applications with unprecedented ease. Job Cost Estimate Connect

Job Cost Estimate Connect is an application that allows you to import estimates into WennSoft Job Cost from a number of external sources. From Excel Spreadsheets, SOP Orders, Text files and XML Connections for other applications – the task of importing data is greatly simplified. Additional features support importation utilizing VB Methods, provide audit trail (estimate revisions) capabilities to allow tracking of multiple imports to same job as well as options such as copy from template and CC translations. All of this functionality can additionally run stand-alone.

Crystal Launcher with Security

Crystal Launcher with Security is a utility that allows you to launch Crystal from a standalone application and does not require a crystal license for each user workstation. New reports that are created are placed in a "share" and are automatically visible. Security for these reports can be managed by leveraging existing Great Plains user classes and users can have local as well as shared Crystal Reports depending on individual needs and preferences. This utility can also be run as a stand alone application.

Microsoft Project Integration

Microsoft Project Integration allows you to Import/Update Tasks in Microsoft Project from WennSoft Job Cost cost codes. Simply select the ranges that you would like imported into Microsoft Project and the data is "imported." Once you have imported your data, you can then enter percent complete, schedule changes, dependencies and production durations right into Microsoft Project. Additional functionality allowing you to update job schedules writes any changes back to WennSoft Job Cost. This allows you to:

• Perform "Earned Value" analysis in Job Cost
• Compare Estimated cost of work performed to actual
• Evaluate the schedule
• Drill down on actual costs, invoices from subs, etc
• Enter forecast revisions to avoid over-recognizing revenue
• Have numbers available to feed many of your Job Cost reports

This application allows you to work with your data in Microsoft Project, while providing you the ability to project overruns (losses) in the back office with WennSoft Job Cost.
