Wennsoft Job Cost was developed on the premise of integrating powerful accounting functions while providing project managers with the ability to utilize job data and proactively manage labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors and other user-defined categories. Additional built-in benefits include billing and accounts receivable, change-order management, contract administration, union payroll, budgeting and reporting. Designed to rapidly adapt to changing business conditions, Job Cost enables project-based businesses and project managers to track actual and budget activity by project, job and four phases (phase, branch, detail and subdetail) in further detail while easily tracking revenue, expenses and profitability.

Many Divisions – Single Contract: The Project Level Module is designed for companies with multiple divisions working together on a single contract. It allows project managers to create a single contract with multiple jobs and provide project-level costs, billing and revenue that cross over several work divisions (e.g., electrical, HVAC and plumbing). This enables easy viewing of the overall project and its many segments. The integration to Microsoft Business Solutions – Great Plains® financials provides a top-to-bottom view of the project performance – from the big picture down to a snapshot of individual activities within a given job.

Rapid Access to Information: Project Manager's Advisor Module gives project managers rapid access to job information without conducting lengthy and time-consuming searches. This allows the project manager to make business decisions based on real-time information and have a greater impact and control over the outcome of the job. User-defined security access can restrict project managers to viewing only their assigned jobs, as well as prevent or allow forecast revisions and change orders directly. Additionally, project managers may require remote access to view information, facilitate changes and make decisions. This can be accomplished anytime, anywhere via the Internet with the ePMA module.

Subcontractors: Effectively managing subcontractor agreements can be a daunting task, and unexpected subcontractor costs at job completion can destroy margins and erode working capital. This module provides the functionality to track information such as:

  • Subcontractor information (insurance, worker's compensation expiration dates, draw requests, retention requests and certificate expirations)
  • Change order status tracking for inclusion in AIA billings
  • Drawings, submittals, documents and other contract-related information
  • Payment control when paid by customer (pay-when-paid)

The Advanced Subcontractor module provides additional functionality by allowing simple management of a greater volume of vendors and subcontractors, and introduces the ability to add subcontractors to a job during purchase order entry. Track documents such as change orders, permits, proof of insurance, performance bonds, certified payroll reports and other contract – related information. Additional functionality allows the tracking and printing of lien waivers.

Report and Estimate: Accurate, up-to-date information is critical for making profitable business  decisions. The system report writers included with Microsoft Great Plains and Crystal Reports customization tools that allow quick and easy creation of new reports or modify any of the hundreds included with Job Cost. With possibilities ranging from simple user-defined lists to sophisticated custom analysis tools, building reports is as easy as pointing and clicking on any field in the database. Simplify estimates by easy importation of estimate information into Job Cost from your favorite estimation package, to use as the basis for the original budget upon award of the contract.

Invoicing: Designed to control and manage unbilled receivables and create invoices, Job Cost provides shortened billing cycles and improves cash flow. Built to support multiple billing types including time and material, AIA, cost plus, cost plus NTE, fixed price, percentage complete and scheduled billings. In addition, integration with the Service Management Series and Microsoft Great Plains enables single-point data entry.

Document Management: This module provides a practical and affordable solution for organizing and sharing documents. Functionality allows users to store, retrieve and attach files of virtually any format to a job.

Expense Tracking: A single point of entry streamlines the collection of labor and laborrelated expenses. Users can capture, validate, track, review, approve and post labor, travel and employee expenses to various projects. The information can also be posted to the General Ledger and Payroll modules for processing. An Internet-enabled version (eTimeTrack) extends this functionality to mobile and off-site employees.

Additional modules and offerings include Multicurrency Management, ADP Export and Microsoft Project Integration.
